With his backroom staff also leaving the Wales set-up after the World Cup, two-time British and Irish Lions boss Gatland said: "For a number of us as coaches this is our last Six Nations game and the fact that it is in Cardiff is extra special".

England's hopes of winning the trophy with victory over Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday are reliant on Ireland preventing a Wales Grand Slam in Cardiff beforehand. Keith Earls 13. Garry Ringrose 12.

Wales are in pole position heading into the final weekend of the championship, knowing victory against the defending champions will secure the title.

Eddie Jones has stirred the pot by saying he thinks Wales could be exhausted because they've made the most tackles, while Ireland's big-game players are peaking.

"If it was me, I would be concentrating on playing Scotland".

"We have spoken all week about embracing it and not running away from it", Gatland said.

I think Ireland will win and open up the tournament for England to claim in the later kick off.

"We don't have any plan [about the Wales game]", he added.

"That's what I want to see, and for us it's about trying to stay level-headed over the next couple of days and be concise in what we deliver to the players so we are not too emotional".

We've worked in the (Six Nations) down weeks and we've trained as hard as any team I have seen.

"We're going in a great direction and Saturday will be a bit of an explosion", said Jones.

Kearney had to pull out of their game against France at the last minute and was replaced by Jordan Larmour, who now drops to the bench.

With three sides still able to win the tournament there's no problem with dead rubbers, although Wales against Ireland is the match which will shape the outcome. Great credit to them for what they've done, but they are starting to look a bit exhausted.

"We don't lose very often when it matters".

"I know he was thinking potentially about when he was going to call time on the game, but he is feeling pretty good at the moment so Wales might get a few more years out of him".
