Let's take a look at the base pricing in each European country, compared to the other Model 3 variants.

Before we know it, the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range will only be available for purchase through Stefon. United States customers can choose from 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 mile annual usage options, depending on their budgets and driving.

In Canada Tesla only has nine stores.

The company is keeping the $35,000 option as an "off-menu" item for the time being.

Tesla is now watching another 20 percent of its stores and "depending on their effectiveness over the next few months, some will be closed and some will remain open", the company told MobileSyrup in an email.

According to Tesla, it noticed the slightly pricier Standard Plus variant (with 386km range) was selling at over six times the rate of the Standard Range model, and therefore made a decision to "simplify our production operations to better optimise cost, minimise complexity and streamline operations".

The website explained that a Model 3 Standard Plus used to cost $37,500, plus $3,000 for the Autopilot option.

In a blog post, the electric vehicle maker outlined the changes that include making the Model 3 Standard only available by phone order or in store. Notably, the Standard Plus' price increased to $53,700. With its price now sitting at $53,700, Tesla has effectively saved drivers $600 if they were planning to add the semi-self-driving feature to their vehicle.

"Just eight weeks after Tesla finally announced the long-promised "$35,000" version of the Model 3, it is rejiggering the lineup and removing the least expensive Standard Range model from its online ordering.

The Standard will have a range limited by 10%, and several features from the Standard Plus will be removed via software including Tesla's onboard music streaming service, navigation with live traffic visualization, and heated seats.

Anyone who buys this vehicle now has the option of paying an additional cost once they get their auto to have these features unlocked.

Tesla is also offering a Model 3 lease for the first time, though with a big caveat. Moreover, anyone with a Standard Plus model can ask for a refund and have these features removed. Tesla says the rear-wheel-drive Long Range model is also now special-order-only.
