Multiple people shot outside nightclub in Australias Melbourne

Four people were taken to hospital after the shooting outside the Love Machine nightclub at 3.20am on Sunday.

It's understood a volley of shots was sacked towards the club from a passing auto just after 3am, striking four men.

No arrests had yet been made.

A 37-year-old Narre Warren South man man suffered life-threatening injuries but has since died in hospital.

Emergency services scrambled to the Love Machine nightclub in Prahran, southeast of Melbourne, near Little Chapel Street and Malvern Road.

It's believed one of the men has facial injuries.

A reporter for 10 News First Melbourne, Kristina Costalos, tweeted an image of the scene of crime, saying: "This is now the scene outside "Love Machine" nightclub near Chapel Street". Among the four people who were hospitalized, two were in a critical condition. Both were hospitalized. It also reported that the suspect was driving a black Porsche Cayenne, stolen before the incident.


The shot people included two security guards and a patron.

Australian newspaper The Age said investigators are likely to examine links to a motorcycle gang.

Blood could be seen on the footpath more than 100 metres from the nightclub.

"Three of the people struck were employees, security guards, and one person was a patron innocently waiting to get in", Insp Stamper told media at the scene.
