The device's display camera hole is placed at the top of the display, and it is centered, unlike on the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones and the HONOR View20.

Further, the company is also teasing a bigger battery for the phone. As per graphic, Manu is shown taking selfies with 32 of his colleagues and guess what, the Redmi Y3 too is coming with 32MP selfie camera. The tweet reads, "This is what happened when @manukumarjain got his hands on the upcoming #Redmi phone". #YYY? 1, 2, 3.damn, we can't keep count of people who feature in Manu's selfies. This also hints that the smartphone will come under the Redmi Y series which focus on selfie smartphones. Redmi's smartphones ship with Xiaomi's MIUI Android overlay, so the same will happen with this device as well, as MIUI 10 will come pre-installed. The Mi Play series will debut in China, and the first smartphone - the Xiaomi Mi Play - is set to launch on December 24.

The Redmi flagship smartphone will have a 6.1-6.3 inch FULL HD LCD display.

After launching the mid-range Redmi Note 7 series in February, Xiaomi followed up with the ultra-budget Redmi Go in March and now, it is gearing up for the third mobile series, a camera-centric to be specific. Under the hood, The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 5G might be not present on the device. We also expect to see HDR capabilities from the main shooter.

On the optics department, The camera setup is a vertical tri-camera setup similar to the one on Mi 9, but to make the smartphone cheaper Xiaomi may opt for cheaper lens instead.
