However, a few storms may reach severe limits in South Mississippi and may be capable of isolated damaging wind gusts and tornadoes. John Moore, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Jackson, says a twister was reported Saturday in the Vicksburg area of MS and was indicated on radar.

"Potential for widespread severe thunderstorms Sunday across much of the Eastern US". The center said it expects the threat of severe weather to increase throughout the day. Some of those storms may sneak into western Kentucky later this evening into the wee hours of the morning. But Sunday skies will clear with a high around 67. It will still be windy on Monday with a west wind at 15 to 25 and gusts to 30+ miles per hour. Combining strong winds and a saturated ground, it will be easier for trees to be uprooted and even fall on power lines. It'll be pretty nice with highs around 70 Monday and near 80 Tuesday.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. Wind: N 10-20; gusty. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. A few rumbles of thunder early Monday morning are possible as we have just enough instability to create some convective storms. Friday brings back another 70° day, but showers are possible in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. It looks like accumulating snow for the mountains, windy conditions for foothills and mountains, and rain showers along the Interstate 25 corridor.

Suspected tornadoes also were reported overnight in various parts of Alabama, including Highland Lakes, Greystone and American Village in Shelby County and lake Purdy at Grants in Jefferson County.
