'Big Little Lies' will be back in June

At the end of season one, Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) stumbled upon Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) in a confrontation with Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Jane (Shailene Woodley) and Renata (Laura Dern) and pushed him to his death.

Ahead of the new season (which will be landing on HBO in June), fans have been graced with the first trailer - and although the short teaser doesn't give too much away about what's about to go down, the sense of foreboding, pain, and absolute stress is palpable.

Kelley said at a TCA panel for the series that Season 2 will "drill down" on the women's lie and explore "how will that lie permeate" the community of Monterey.

Joining the cast is queen Meryl Streep who plays the distressed mother-in-law in search of answers as to how her son died last season.

So much screaming! It's a good thing the HBO teaser trailer just showed but didn't give audio to all of those screams or your eardrums might not survive to watch the new season.

"I want to know what happened that night", she tells Reese Witherspoon's Madeline.

Together, they make up the "Monterey Five", as people are now calling them. "I'm very tempted to ask you, but I..."

Adam Scott (Ed), James Tupper (Nathan) and Jeffrey Nordling (Gordon) will return for the seven-episode season, which will premiere Sunday, June 9 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
