The card also has reward programmes attached to its usage and offers everyday rewards called Daily Cash, by which Apple Pay users can get a two percent cash back.

At least, that's according to a spokesperson from MasterCard.

Users typically replace iPhones - which sell at an average of US$800 - about every three years, and spend an average of US$88 a year on apps.

Apple says you can apply for the card through the Wallet app on your iPhone in minutes, and you can begin using it the moment you're approved.

Jeff Fromm, author of "Marketing to Gen Z" and a partner at agency Barkley, gave it a positive review, saying the transparency, and frictionless experience all connected to a phone under the Apple brand will add to its value.

Oprah Winfrey has also signed up for this event and she will also be seen on Apple TV Plus.

The Apple Card pays 2% in cash back on Apple Pay transactions, 3% on Apple product purchases, and 1% on purchases made with the physical card. Today Apple has announced a new method of purchase, an Apple credit card. The Cupertino also took advantage of the Keynote Pull to launch iOS 12.2, an update you can download right away.

More mature and pragmatic than its older millennial forbearers, the cohort is savvy with both finances and technology, survival skills that members gained after watching siblings and parents suffer through the 2008 recession.

Apple has eschewed typical credit card fees, such as annual membership fees, late payment fees, fees for making global purchases, and fees for exceeding a card's spending limit.

The new game from SimCity and The Sims creator Will Wright, who left Maxis in 2009 after the release of Spore, was not shown off.
