The service will launch in fall and, by the looks of it, the company is now investing heavily into making it successful: according to a report from The Financial Times, Apple is pouring in no less than several millions each in over 100 games. According to a report on the Financial Times, Apple is spending "hundreds of millions" of dollars in partnerships to get games for the service. That means developers - who will reportedly be paid based on how much their games are played - will have to hold back from releasing their games on other platforms such as the Play Store. The advance given by Apple to game title developers is more than enough to cover their game development cost.

These exclusive games could prove expensive for Apple; according to CNet, "sources informed the Financial Times that numerous games in the works have budgets in the millions".

Apple Arcade is the upcoming gaming subscription service from the company. Apple isn't aiming for 100 games right off the bat however, and many of its offerings will be indie-style games seen on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV devices; truly worthy of the Arcade moniker. With Apple Arcade, the company seems to be trying to change that perception. According to FT, Apple is spending a whopping $500 million on the project.

The release of Apple Arcade comes as Google unveiled "Stadia, ' a service that lets users 'play, watch and build" games on any device.

First launched last month, Arcade gives users access to 100 titles from developers like Cartoon Network, LEGO, Sega, Konami and Annapurna Interactive, among others. In addition to that, if the users do not provide explicit consent, Arcade games will not be allowed to share any of their data with the publishers.

The service is slated to launch later this year, with game titles expected to be announced this summer.
