Sophie Turner Says Joe Jonas Helped Her Through Deep Depression

The 23-year-old actress, who played Sansa Stark opposite her on-screen sister Maisie, who played Arya Stark, spoke candidly about their time on the show and how they would never socialise outside one another - leading to the toxic scenario.

Speaking to USA talk show host Dr Phil on his podcast, Turner said: "It's weird".

"There's been a few things, but I think the biggest challenge - and I've had it for the longest out of all my mental health problems - is my depression", Turner said. So I'm still on that, and I'm just about to go into press for the final season of Game Of Thrones and a movie Dark Phoenix that I did.

Crediting her fiancé Joe Jonas as one of the things that have helped build up her confidence, she said: "I am with someone that makes me realise that I have some redeeming qualities and when someone tells you they love you everyday it really makes you think why that is, so I think that makes you love yourself a bit more". "I've suffered with my depression for five or six years now".

When asked if she believed social media was to blame for her depression, Turner said not entirely.
