The British actress plays Jean Grey, a mutant with unharnessed telepathic powers and one of Professor Charles Xavier's favourite students in the forthcoming film, the twelfth addition to the X-Men franchise and sequel to 2016 blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse.

Dark Phoenix swoops into theaters on June 7. The only problem is that it's retelling a story that we've already heard before, and much like the recent reboot of Hellboy, it doesn't seem to be doing much to improve it in any way.

Back in 2000, the world had just survived the dreaded Y2K scare, and with renewed hope for the future, looked forward to the start of a new summer blockbuster trend: superhero movies. Now, with Turner starring in the movie, Dark Phoenix can hopefully grab some of that audience that's still excited for Game of Thrones - especially with the latest trailer. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy.

20th Century Fox has released the Dark Phoenix final trailer as one of X-Men's most beloved characters, Jean Grey, evolves into the iconic Dark Phoenix.

Picking up in 1992, almost a decade after the events of that film, its final trailer finds Jean earning her mutant stripes after a rescue mission in deep space goes horribly wrong, resulting in her being engulfed by a powerful explosion that decimates her ship.

We always knew Jean was an incredibly gifted telepath mutant, but her powers increase exponentially after a daring mission to rescue a number of NASA astronauts. She begins to struggle with her powers, and she confesses when she loses control, "bad things happen, but it feels good". Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable.
