In our review of Unity, we called the game "Good" saying "Assassin's Creed Unity is a gorgeous and entertaining game of impossible peaks and disappointing valleys".

Bunches of roses are placed near Notre-Dame Cathedral two days after a massive fire devastated large parts of the gothic structure in Paris, France, April 17, 2019.

A news post on Ubisoft's website states that the company will be making Assassin's Creed Unity free on Uplay so that all players can enjoy the Notre-Dame cathedral in a fashion.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that he wanted to see the church rebuilt within five years "more handsome than before".

Macron also appealed for financial help to do so. Presidential cultural heritage envoy Stephane Bern told broadcaster France-Info that $995 million has been raised since the fire. Firefighters battled for eight hours to contain the blaze which destroyed the cathedral's roof and spire, but despite fears that the whole building could collapse the stone structure and iconic bell towers remain standing today. The cathedral's vaulted ceiling also suffered massive damage.

More than 30 people have already been questioned in the investigation, including workers at the five construction companies who were involved in renovating the church spire and roof.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but officials have said the fire was likely accidental.
