In other words, it's all very Black Mirror.

The first trailer for Black Mirror season 5 dropped Wednesday, revealing the full cast and (most importantly) its June 5 release date.

The fourth season of Black Mirror premiered on Netflix at the end of 2017 with six all-new episodes and a finale that almost felt like an ending to the entire series. But series creator Charlie Brooker teases: "It's the Marvel-DC crossover no one saw coming". The performances were on point and the series' trademark anti-tech stance was explored from a fun new angle, but the episode itself (really more of a feature, but let's not get dragged into that debate again) felt more like a moderately amusing diversion than the Black Mirror we all know and love. The upcoming fifth season goes deeper into the dangers of technology with intriguing action-packed stories about a manufactured pop star (Cyrus), a husband whose marriage is on the rocks (Mackie), and a technology truther attempting to expose the horrors of progress (Scott).

Big name stars can be seen in the trailer including Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Topher Grace.

We'll find out when Black Mirror returns on June 5th.

Netflix has described this season as showing "our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable - and sometimes unsettling - conclusion".
