'Bond 25' put on hold after Daniel Craig injury: PM Buzz

Production on Bond 25 has reportedly come to a halt after Daniel Craig suffered an injury on set.

Principal photography was meant to move to the famous Pinewood Studios in London (longstanding home of the 007 film franchise when it's not on location), but the shoot there has apparently been canceled in the wake of Craig's medical needs.

And it seems even in Craig's swan song as James Bond, he can't catch a break.

According to a report by British newspaper The Sun, Daniel Craig fell while sprinting for a scene in his final James Bond film and has been flown to the US for X-rays, forcing the project to suspend production.

Citing an unnamed source, the publication reported that the actor was shooting one of his final scenes in Jamaica. "He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly", the source said.

The insider went on to state that the actor was in duress and complained of ankle pain. That film's release date was unaffected despite the seriousness of Cruise's injury, which resulted in a broken ankle.

This isn't the first time Craig has sustained an injury while playing the suave secret agent as he knocked two teeth out in 2006 while filming Casino Royale.

Despite the delay, it's not now thought that it'll be enough to push the release date back, which will no doubt have the producers breathing a sigh of relief.

Bond 25 (it's still without an official title) is now scheduled to open in theaters April 8, 2020 (though it stands to reason that could potentially change depending on the current shooting delay).

The full cast for the new adventure was revealed in April as production officially began, with Oscar-winner Rami Malek confirmed to play the film's villain. Along with Daniel, the recurring cast includes Jeffrey Wright, Ben Wishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris.

Bond 25 has experienced a lot of behind-the-scenes drama already. "The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with unsafe new technology".
