Crazy Monster Hunting Game 'Dauntless' Now Available PC and Console

Dauntless has about 3 million players, and Phoenix Labs expects to triple that number when Dauntless launches on May 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Epic Games Store) The Nintendo Switch and mobile releases are still in the works, along with the "One Dauntless" initiative that will support cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms. This game has been in open beta for some time now on PC and the developers seem to be optimistic about its release later this month. The Mastery system offers a new way for Slayers to hone their skills, earn experience, unlock achievements, and acquire new rewards. Each of the game's Behemoths and weapons will have its own unique Mastery cards to delve into, and the campaign is also being reworked for the full release. According to the press release, this new monster hunting title will launch on May 21st on the PC via the Epic Games Store.

The game's launch will also bring "Hunt Pass Season 5: Hidden Blades". Players assume the role of a Slayer, an individual who hunts Behemoths and uses their parts to fuel powerful armaments.

Phoenix Labs has been one of the first, vocal proponents of cross-network play, and the developer has indeed been promising the feature for Dauntless. Everything from questing and crafting to meeting other Slayers and pursuing Behemoths has received massive updates. "So once you play Monster Hunter World, you can try Dauntless out for free", Clifford concluded. Dauntless is free-to-play, and you'll also be able to download the client through the official site, should you want to avoid the EGS.
