Along with the new Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the company announced in its latest earnings report that it would have three unannounced titles at E3 this year, all to release before the end of Ubisoft's 2019-20 fiscal year (which ends March 30). He says the delay is about giving an ambitious new IP time to fulfill its potential.

On the bright side, Ubisoft won't have any absence of games to show at E3 this year.

The game is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it was originally slated for a 2018 release. First time around, developer Ubisoft Singapore stated that it wants to "make this game right in order to achieve our ambition to deliver the ultimate pirate game set to thrill players at launch and for years to come".

You'd be forgiven if the title Skull and Bones doesn't immediately set off bells of recognition.

"You may have heard that the Skull & Bones release date has been pushed back and we will not be at E3 2019", producer Karl von der Luhe said in a video message.

Skull and Bones has never had a firm release date, but was expected at some point this year.

I'm still kind of keen on Skull and Bones. Ubisoft hasn't really promoted it much since its reveal a couple years ago.

Ubisoft's had a good year so far. We know that there won't be a new Assassin's Creed title amongst them, but will one of them be the elusive and often-rumoured Splinter Cell?
