CBS All Access' upcoming Star Trek spin-off series centered on Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard. Kurtzman previously told The LA Times, adding that he hopes the series will be a reinforcement of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's "vision of optimism". The next time we saw Picard in the vineyards was in the series finale, the Season 7 episode "All Good Things." in which a future version of Picard was anxious he would be the cause of humanity's destruction. Apparently, when she speaks to him, it's been 15 years to the day since he commanded the largest rescue armada in history, one that "lead us out of the darkness". The voice-over is that of questioning, wondering why Picard, who famously eschewed a personal life (mostly) and preferred to explore the stars, would leave Starfleet and return to his roots and his, er, roots.

While imaginations race for what is to come in the show, the woman continues: "What did that cost you?" Your faith. Your faith in us.

There was a whole lot of excitement when CBS All Access announced that it was giving Star Trek legend Patrick Stewart his very own series. "Your faith in yourself?" the voice asks.

Little is known about the plot of the series other than it is said to tell the story of the next chapter of Picard's life.

Along with the trailer we also have our first official poster which plays on the vineyard vibe, which I have to say I really like. "The end is only the beginning", the show's tagline reads. But, here we are, in actual future Star Trek canon, and it looks like future Picard has indeed retired and is working his family's wine vineyard.
