The Milwaukee Bucks headed into Game 4 battered but confident, having squandered a golden opportunity to steal Game 3 away from the Toronto Raptors but failing to do so in double-overtime. In one way, the Raptors were revelling in a series rebirth thanks to the double-overtime win in Sunday's Game 3 that spared them the peril of falling to a 3-0 hole from which no National Basketball Association team has ever emerged triumphant.

Toronto's bench proved to be the difference-maker, with Norman Powell (18 points, +29), Fred VanVleet (13 points, +25) and Serge Ibaka (17 points, +24) all stepping up.

VanVleet, who went 3-of-3 from the three-point line and finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, credited the birth of his son on Monday for his strong performance.

Khris Middleton led Milwaukee with 30 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 25. Like I know I have to play better. This is one of the nights that we knew Kawhi was a little bit limited. The Raptors finished with a 48-23 advantage in bench scoring.

Raptors: Lowry scored 12 of Toronto's first 17 points.

For that reason, the contributions from the three reserves that came in to spell the team's starting unit become that much more important; the bench has been a reason for some of the team's highs and lows this postseason.

"This may be our third game of the playoffs where everyone has kinda stepped up and played, scored and did some things well".

But the Bucks lost their second straight game, something they did just once during the regular season.

"They got to good spots". Mirotic was 4-for-9. "He logged a lot of minutes, he's certainly exhausted, like a lot of guys in this series are". But, again, he's got tremendous will. But at the end of the day, if guys come off the bench they knock down shots, we've got to live with it.

All Eastern Conference finals games will air on TNT. Will they be ready? "But I just think that Fred, Norm, Pascal, Marc and Kawhi were impacting the game so great that you just weren't going to take those guys out".

It's now a three-game series to see who's going to The Finals.
