Ever since Square Enix's Avengers project was revealed two years ago, the anticipation has been building for the game, which is produced in partnership with Tomb Raider's Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

Crystal Dynamics has always been rumored to be working on a new Marvel's Avengers game, and Square Enix has been teasing the title for a bit now. Official intel of the highly anticipated event came by way of the Square Enix press briefing at E3 on Monday night with confirmation. New heroes, locations, and missions.

We also know now that this is an original story that exists outside the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans don't reprise their roles from the movies.

The game will launch with Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk and Thor, however new characters will be added after the game's launch.

While we've seen no gameplay footage yet, some elongated segments are likely coming soon.

Square Enix has revealed the game will be ready for everyone on May 15, 2020. The Avengers are blamed for a seismic tragedy, and the Avengers disband. There are some big voice talents involved with the game as well; Nolan North plays Tony Stark, Troy Baker plays Bruce Banner, Laura Bailey plays Black Widow, Travis Willingham plays Thor, and XXX plays Captain America. This will allow four friends to team up online to combat villains and save the world playing as the heroes they want from the Marvel universe. "We have narrative that's going to be delivered over multiple years with regular content drops". Every new superhero and region will be added for free.

In an extended gameplay demo, we get to see Ant-Man's Hank Pym shrinking a huge robot into the size of an itty-bitty pet.

PlayStation users, however, will get early access to the Beta, which does not have a confirmed date yet and will also receive extra in-game items.
