Liverpool winger Ojo on way to Rangers

Liverpool are only prepared to offer €30m in their bid to land Nabil Fekir from Lyon this summer, it has been claimed in France, with the Reds unwilling to go as high as last summer to sign the attacking midfielder.

"Jurgen Klopp has reignited his interest in Nabil Fekir and he would buy him from Olympique Lyon", Schira tweeted.

He made 39 appearances, scoring 12 times and assisting nine times throughout the season.

But Liverpool are not prepared to offer as much money as they put on the table a year ago.

The fee he quotes is €30 million, which would be around £26.7 million.

But given that Villa are interested in a permanent deal, both the winger and Liverpool could be eager to wrap up the transfer as soon as possible.

The popular line on Merseyside remains that Fekir is not a target this summer, but it will be interesting to see whether the story develops in the coming weeks.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, cited by This is Futbol, the Reds have offered the 25-year-old a five-year deal worth £3.5 million a year.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted there is "an understanding" to allow Fekir to leave.

That may be a somewhat optimistic price-tag considering the Lyon skipper has just 12 months remaining on his current contract.

This would be worth around £70,000 a week, and this combined with a potential fee of almost half that agreed last summer could make Fekir a bargain signing.

The Echo say Liverpool "have fielded several inquiries" over his "availability", but "won't budge below that valuation" if Klopp decides to cash in.
