Sarah Huckabee Sanders To Leave White House At End Of The Month

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, press secretary for U.S. President Donald Trump, is leaving her position.

He said, "She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas - she would be fantastic", Trump said on Twitter announcing her departure.

He also thanked for her "for a job well done!"

The daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sanders moved her young family to Washington to be part of the administration. Under Sanders' tenure, regular White House press briefings became a relic of the past. She has not held a "daily" press briefing in 94 days.

Sanders was the second press secretary under the Trump administration after replacing Sean Spicer.

Sanders often found herself defending Trump's most incendiary remarks and actions, a balancing act that occasionally led her astray of the facts.

Sanders called her time at the White House "the honor of a lifetime, the opportunity of a lifetime", and said she looked forward to spending more time with her three children.
