The streaming service - which very rarely shares viewership data - revealed on Twitter that almost 31 million accounts watched Murder Mystery in its first three days. This includes 13.4 million Netflix accounts in the US/Canada and 17.5 million Netflix accounts from other parts of the world.

The film stars Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, and Luke Evans - three massive names in Hollywood. In the movie, Sandler plays a New York City cop who takes his wife on a trip to Europe that he's been promising her for years.

"30,869,863 accounts watched Murder Mystery in its first 3 days - the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix Film". On the flight, they meet someone who introduces them to an aging billionaire who ends up getting murdered, leaving the unlucky NY couple as the prime suspects.

Adam Sandler movies and beloved sitcom "Friends" remain among Netflix's most-watched content, and a new film combining the two has paid off big time.

In March 2017, Netflix announced that it extended its deal with Sandler for four more movies, bringing his total output for the streaming service to eight films.

It's Fyre Festival documentary also fared particularly well, drawing more than 20 mill in its opening four weeks while the superhero series The Umbrella Academy was watched by 45 million accounts in its first month.
