Firefighters tackle huge blaze at Warner Bros studios near Hemel Hempstead

A spokesman for Warner Bros did not comment on the fire but told the BBC that public studio tours were unaffected and taking place as normal.

"Fifteen fireplace engines, plus help automobiles, are at present in attendance on the scene and crews are tackling a hearth in one of many levels there".

All eight Harry Potter films, a number of James Bond, Fast and Furious and the Mission Impossible films have also used the studio in the past. "Three jets and one aerial ladder platform are in use", learn an announcement from Hertfordshire County Council.

Firefighters have put out a blaze at Warner Bros studios, the site famously associated with the Harry Potter and James Bond movies.

The local council told Variety that no-one had been injured in the fire, which was burning at an unused sound stage. Police have closed a local road to allow firefighters to run a hose from a local canal, and additional fire trucks were called in Thursday morning to join the 15 already battling the blaze.

"As I watched the smoke appeared to get thicker, so much so that we could see the flashing lights of the fire engines reflecting off the thick smoke", he added.

Warner Bros bought the site in 2010.

"It was still going strong at about 1 a.m".

Studies within the Watford Observer described individuals close by being woke up to "very robust odor of smoke". A second man, who is 54, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and released on bail until Wednesday, July 17.
