So who will he be playing? The anthology series' ninth installment features the return of longtime members of the AHS ensemble like Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, and Leslie Grossman.

Set to Dan Hartman's 1984 hit, "I Can Dream About You", the videos show the cast donning classic, "amazing 80s lewks" while posing in for a camera test and in a camp bunker.

Angelica Ross, who plays Candy in Pose, now airing its second season, has signed on for a role in the ninth season of American Horror Story.

The videos are combined in one post from Murphy, and it shows that season 9 will focus on a summer camp setting in 1984, giving off some major Stranger Things vibes. Still, if these first looks are anything to go by, we're in for a campy, darkly comic season of AHS, aka my favorite version of the series. And this isn't the first time Murphy has found success in bringing an actor from Pose to Horror Story; Billy Porter, who stole the show as Pray Tell, also turned in a memorable performance in AHS: Apocalypse as the warlock Behold. She is joining the American Horror Story family in another unforgettable role.

"No, I'm going to sit a season out", he said.

Murphy's obvious affection for genre fare of all shapes and sizes has been well on display in the eight seasons preceding 1984, as episodes have covered (to varying degrees of effect) everything from menacing serial killers to creepy psych wards, insane carnies, a powerful coven of witches, and pretty much every other horror trope you can conjure.

The Twentieth Century Fox Television production was renewed for two more seasons back in the fall of 2018, carrying it through to season 10. She's been a part of every season of the franchise to date.
