During an interview with People published July 11, the record producer said of Cardi, Nicki Minaj, and newcomer Megan Thee Stallion, "I feel they're all rapping about the same thing. I don't think they're showing us who's the best rapper", Dupri told People.

Cardi B has a few words for Jermaine Dupri.

"First of all, I rap about my p*ssy because she's my best friend, and second of all it's because it seems like that's what people want to hear", Cardi continued.

A rep for Dupri did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Cardi then explained that there are a lot of "female rappers who rap their asses off who don't talk about their p- and y'all don't support them". As far as rap goes, I'm not getting 'who is the best rapper.' I'm getting, like, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story. Ok. If you were right, then how do I know so many female rappers that are so qualified, and so talented and so clever, who don't just talk about sex, like I do. When I did 'Be Careful, ' people were like, 'What the f-k is this?' 'This is not what I expected, ' 'I expected this, ' 'I expected that, ' so it's like, that's what people ain't trying to hear, so it's like alright, Imma stat rapping about my p-y again.

The Grammy victor also pointed out: "There's a lot a of female rappers that be rappin' they ass off and don't be talking about they pussy and don't be talking about, you know, gettin' down and dirty". When she released her unexpectedly emotional single "Be Careful", after the enormous success of "Bodak Yellow", she continued, fans were disappointed that she took a different, more vulnerable route.

The truth is, Jermaine Dupri's brand of non-logic has always been used by a certain kind of rap fan, not just to pit women against one another, but to demean rappers who use sex to help them sell. Instead, she made the point that plenty of female rappers don't really talk about sex all the time, and she offered up some examples: Tierra Whack, Kamaiyah, Rapsody, Alabama rapper Chika Oranika. These bloggers don't support them, they don't give them the recognition.

"I feel we need to put these girls in more magazines and blogs". Shesthe REALEST seeing her doing this just out of pure kindness of her heart and wants these rappers to go somewhere and shout them out so they can have a chance to be recognized? "Radio DJs, play these girls", Cardi pleaded.
