The teardown also confirms that the new MacBook Pro comes with Apple's updated third-generation Butterfly keyboard. For more processor-intensive tasks like video editing or gaming, get a MacBook Pro.

That's really the only upgrade the 13-inch MacBook Air is receiving, but it's also getting a little price cut to go along with it.

Well, it looks like Apple is subtly pushing customers towards the iPad Pro and the upcoming iPad OS, which promises to be more laptop-esque in terms of functionality.

Last year's MacBook Air, for example, hovered around the same price point as the 12-inch Macbook, which created some confusion when it came to buying a portability-focused Macbook.

So, if you are in the market for a new laptop, here's all the latest updates and how these new Macs compare.

"With a lower Dh4,417.35 student price for the MacBook Air and theupdated 13-inchMacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at Dh5,206.95 for students, there's never been a better time to bring a Mac tocollege". For a limited time, Amazon is taking $100 off the new Apple MacBook Air (128GB).

Good news aside, a blow for those who like to consider upgrading their notebook comes with the fact that the SSD is now soldered in, whereas in the previous non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro, it was removable.

Apple will also throw wireless headphones into a collection of BeatsStudio3 at no extra price. The lowest-priced variant is at $1,299 or $1,199 for students.

WHAT'S NOW MISSING?: Apple has now completely streamlined its MacBook range with the older MacBook Air now removed from sale.

If all you're going to do be doing is checking emails, writing documents and watching Netflix, get a MacBook Air. The MacBook Air now starts at $1,099, though if you're a college student, you can snag one for $999.
