Picard revisits the iconic Star Trek: The Next Generation Captain in his elder years, starring Patrick Stewart reprising his role from that show.

Amazon Prime Video UK has released the new key art for Star Trek: Picard. This new image offers an early look at Patrick Stewart's aged Jean-Luc Picard as he embarks on his last and most important mission. Sitting next to Picard is a dog with an iconic Starfleet emblem hanging from its collar.

Star Trek: Picard will be appearing later this year, and will feature Sir Patrick Stewart, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Eva Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, and Harry Treadaway.

In this new image, Jean-Luc can be seen on (what we assume to be) his family vineyard, with the sun basking the entire landscape in a soft glow.

There's still a lot we don't know about this new series, but fresh info and announcements have been trickling out at a steady rate.

Star Trek: Picard will make its San Diego Comic-Con debut during the Enter the Star Trek Universe panel on Saturday 20th July from 11.30am to 1pm PST in Hall H.

Executive Producer Alex Kurtzmann revealed in January to the Hollywood Reporter that the former captain will be tormented by regrets over the destruction of the Romulan home world, an event that was hinted at in 2009's rebooted Star Trek film.

One of the most popular characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation is getting his own series.
