"Some people may be able to access Twitter again and we're working to make sure Twitter is available to everyone as quickly as possible", the update reads.

It is worth mentioning that Twitter's website and app both are suffering service interruption blocking users from sending new tweets, loading old/new tweets, uploading files and access media on the platform. The social media platform is now up but isn't entirely functional for everyone.

Reports of issues using Twitter spiked by tens of thousands on Down Detector on Thursday afternoon.

According to DownDetector, Reddit first started having issues at 3:00 AM EST, but have continued to get worse as the day has gone on, with thousands of complaints from users pouring in as they struggle to access the site.

According to Downdetector.com, the outage didn't just affect people in the United States.

The highest user-reported incidents were from Western Europe and the US.

The service disruption appears to have affected users worldwide.
